Prophet (Dr.) Samusideen Saka
The herbalist who became an advocate of religious tolerance — and stayed one for thirty-six years.
He took up the work despite limited knowledge of the two most widely circulated holy books, and set about learning both.
The vision came to him on pilgrimage in Mecca in 1989. His father, grandmother and immediate family resisted it — they could not reconcile a successful herbalist with an advocate of peace between Christians and Muslims, and they warned it would bring condemnation rather than income. It brought both the condemnation and, eventually, the movement.
Thirty-six years on, the ministry still runs on the proceeds of his poultry farm and animal husbandry — a detail he offers freely as evidence that this was never about money.
